Mark Szczerbicki Design Studio put together a masterclass in the use of natural finishes in the bathrooms of this home in Huntleys Cove, NSW. These bathrooms are dream spaces that feel at once grounded and feather light.
Huntleys Cove, NSW
Head architect Mark Szczerbicki has made dramatic use of natural materials. Behind a free-standing porcelain bathtub of crisp white rises an expanse of grey-veined black marble tiles. On the top half of the wall, cedar wood softens the tiles with an organic and sophisticated matte finish.
On the opposite wall, walnut cabinetry floats above the light-tiled floor giving the room a sense of space and joy. Marble countertops and splashbacks lend a stately elegance while Catalano Green Lux basins in a gloss white ceramic finish pull the atmosphere forward into the 21st century. This is enhanced with our Eccentric Wall Outlet and Progressive Mixer in matt black.
While the main bathroom revels in a light-hearted juxtaposition of natural elements, the downstairs powder room takes a far more dramatic approach.
Black marble tiles and a sleek black countertop are set off with brushed gold accents. The Eccentric Progressive Mixer and matching Eccentric Wall Outlet give an Jazz-age glamour while the Eon Hand Towel Rail’s gentle square profile lends a modern touch. Our Peak Push Plate & Inwall Cistern offers a low profile yet striking finish.
